I remember that a couple of years ago I wrote late at night (just like I do right now) in my diary. About Meryl, the one and only, Meryl Streep. She is such a wonderful person. Inspiring, funny, clever, amazing, intelligent, etc. I love every movie that she has been in, but moreover I love watching interviews of her even more because in real life she is even greater than she already is on screen. But see yourself and laugh about her clever sense of humor, her absolutely outstanding talent of acting and her charisma!!

Let’s go to… Stockholm

stockholm In exactly 38 days I will be for the first time in Sweden, in Stockholm to be precise! And I cannot tell you how much I actually look forward to this trip. First because I will see Ellinor again. And second because there is so much to see and do in the city and I’ve wanted to go there for a while now. So here is a list with the things I want to see when I’m in Sweden’s capital in February.
1. Le Paradis FantastiqueIt is a sculpture garden created by Niki de Saint Phalle and her husband Jean Tinguely. I wrote my finals about this amazing artist and I simply love her artwork. So it’s a major thing to go to Skeppsholmen and be amazed by seeing Niki’s sculptures.ndsp
2. The Abba MuseumI love Mamma Mia! and all the songs of it. Visiting the Abba museum is a must!!abbamuseum
3. Have a fika
is the Swedish equivalent to Britain’s Tea Time. After looking at many cute litle cafés in the city I found “Helin Voltaire”. A cozy-looking café on the island Djurgården. helinvoltaire
4. Visit the Fotografiska Museet
… because I love starring at photos!!Style: "vvv"
5. Visit the Royal castle
… because Austria doesn’t have any royals!schloss

This last weekend I was at home (the “home” I grew up in, but honestly I have no clue where my home actually is, kind of lost that feeling a while ago). I decided the whole “going-home-thing” very spontaneously on Friday night. And this weekend lots of special moments happened to me…
On Friday night I texted back and forth with my host kid Em. So far she is one of the best things that happened to me in my life. I started to love her like my own child and she turned my world upside down forever. Without her I guess I would still believe that I would be a bad mom or that I actually never want to have kids. But I was wrong!! Letting her down on Friday (had to tell her that I cannot come to Chicago over Easter) nearly broke my heart... I miss her soooo much!!Screenshot_2014-01-09-23-59-15
Then on Saturday I was at one of my best friend’s prom. Caroline was sooooooo pretty!! I already told her that I will book her to make my wedding dress someday in the future!! Love her.
It is so true that people, friends and family and sometimes even strangers, are the best things in life. I truly value everyone who is/ has been part of my life. Every single one, because they all made an impression on me and gave me pieces of advice, wisdom, laughter, love and new points of view. It’s the people in life that make the difference!

Drick och Njut

As you know my Swedish friend Ellinor was in town for a couple of days. She brought me some amazing tea where it says on the back “drick och njut” which means drink and enjoy. I loved to say that phrase all the time!! I am already looking forward to going to Stockholm in less than 50 days and learn more funny stuff to say! Saknar dig, Ellinor!!IMG_9373

New Year. New Me. Bullshit?

2013 was great!! It was a rollercoaster though but since I am optimistic and only remember the good stuff for me the last year was absolutely fantastic. There were some things though where I think some improve might be good. I thought about sharing them with you. How about your New Years Resolutions?
1. Sleep more
I am really blessed and do not need as much sleep as others do, but still, even my body needs some time to rest and I want to give it this time to recover. So from now on I want to go to sleep no later than midnight everyday.nyr4
2. TravelIt freaks me out to be “trapped” here. As my mum always uses to say: Christina, someone gave you wings, you gotta make use of them and discover the world. This year on my list: Stockholm, Paris and England.nyr6
3. Get in shapeRun, run, run! Summer is coming for sure and I wanna look fabulous in my bikinis this year!nyr5
4. ReadI love reading. My excuse though: I have no time. Well, then better make some. I want to read at least for half an hour every day. Newspaper and every month at least one book.nyr1
5. FoodI always paid attention to what I put in my tummy. I really care about my body and so I want to eat as healthy as possible in 2014. I mean sure, I will still eat cake and maybe steak sometimes, but in general I want to eat clean, vegan, and without sugar and white flour.nyr7
6. Creativity
I am creative. I only didn’t allow myself to be very creative lately. I really want to do another photography course and improve my skills behind the camera.nyr2

Lovely Visitor

IMG_0949Some days after Christmas Ellinor from Sweden, who I met while living in Chicago visited me here in Vienna. After picking her up at the airport we decided to catch up on six months of not seeing each other while having some breakfast at one of my favorite cafés in Vienna, the Motto am Fluss.
