Studying

IMG_0259In less than a week I will have my first exam: introduction to business administration. And Wednesday next week I’ll have math. Right now, that the time is passing by so fast, I kinda get stressed about these facts! But anyway I don’t really have an option than being positive about it. And as I like to see it “These are my first university exams ever!” it actually is a little exciting as well!!

Eggplant Pizzas

Moving to Vienna has a really big disadvantage: I no longer have a big kitchen. Now it’s all tiny and I even have to share it with my two roommates. You have to know, I LOVE cooking and spending time in the kitchen. I guess food, baking, cooking and eating are my big passions!! I love so much that I even put “two cups” in my blog title. So even if there is not a lot of space for me right now, I’ll do my best and get some food-stuff on this blog!!IMG_0201
Today I will start off with something really healthy. I saw that recipie a couple of days ago on Pinterest (follow me!! – you can find the link to my profile to your right!). Thought I will give it a try since it seems to be really easy.IMG_0208 Count three 1 cm thick eggplant slices for each person. Season them with salt, pepper and some olive oil. Roast them for 3-5 minutes at 200°C (400°F). Meanwhile get your other ingredients. Basically you can take whatever you feel like, that’s why this meal is called “pizza”. I took some bacon cubes, tomato sauce, grated cheese and some oregano. Layered these ingredients on top of the eggplant slices and put them back in the oven. Roast for about 12-15 minutes and serve with some fresh ciabatta bread. DONE & ENJOY!!!IMG_0232

Sunshine

IMG_0186 After studying nearly the entire day I really wanted to get outside since it was such a beautiful fall day. The sun was shining and so the temperatures were quite nice, too. I threw over a knitted pullover, my favorite Zara scarf and with music in my ears I left the apartment.  I was – like many many times before – smiling about that beautiful day and what difference my beloved sun can do for my mood!!IMG_0180 While strolling through Vienna’s busiest shopping streets I took some pictures before sunset. It was a wonderful day!! Saw and talked to a very beloved friend who I didn’t have the chance to talk to for a month (what feels like forever!!)!! The sun made this day even more perfect! And I also had my shopping assistant, my favorite cousin with me, so our shopping spree was successful, too!! Can you ask for anything more?!

Addicted

I’m such a freak! Four weeks ago it was raining cats and dogs and so I started another art-project of mine (soon I will show you) and since I didn’t want to only focus on that project but also wanted to be entertained, I decided to give the TV-show “How I met your mother” a try. Well, it ended like that: I m currently done with season 6 and soon done with the entire show. And no, I don’t have a life anymore, I’m seriously sitting 24/7 in front of the TV. Today I want to share my so far favorite scene with you. It’s legen- wait for it -dary!! haha!!!

People

I’m at the beginning of a new chapter. But it feels more like a prologue of a book. Here in Austria universities officially start with October 1st. This is the reason, why libraries and learning platforms are pretty empty and why there are not a lot of parties going on. I have to say, I really enjoy this quiet time. It helps me to get used to living on my own, being on my own and being independent, just doing what I feel like.people
A new chapter also means leaving things behind. Well, it is hard to leave the familiar, the comfort zone. And jump right away in the cold water and hope for not drowning. It’s the second time within a year that I start a new chapter of my life. It’s never easy to do so. Think of all the good times, the fun, the awesome memories. Will it ever be like that again? Probably not, but I learned something: the people how care about you, will be with you, no matter what chapter of your life you are in. And if some of your companions decided to leave your path and travel along another one, let go of them and be thankful for what you were able to share with them.happiness3
But what I really want to say is: starting an new chapter, gives you the chance to declutter. Free yourself form negative stuff from your past. The past is already over, it’s water under the bridge, no one is interested in that. Free yourself from people who drag you down or belittle you or your abilities. Those are just jealous or don’t believe in you. So why keeping them in your life?
I will keep all my beloved ones close to my heart! No matter where they are on this planet, they are truly valued and loved by me. But if some people just don’t give you the chance to let them love you, you should probably not waste your energy and move on.

Holstee Manifesto

life I don’t know if you have ever heard of the “Holstee Manifesto”. I discovered it a little bit more than a year back in time. Back then I started to slowly realize that I got to take my life in my own hands. It’s my decision what I will do with the very precious time I am given on earth. For me the Manifesto is kind of a reminder. We should be happy instead of being down or sad or angry. Because what’s the point?
I am fully aware that life is not perfect!! By far not, but that doesn’t mean that we cannot be happy and live a great life full of joy and happiness. I count myself to the group of people who complain a lot and try to get attention with that. Well, thankfully more and more often I realize that there is a better way to be loved and valued and remembered: live the life you love, and love the life you live. if you want to be happy, be!! Go out in this beautiful world, open your eyes and see what life has in store for you! I’m sure that there is something great for everyone out there, just don’t be afraid of finding it!

Splurge Lunch

After my math course today I met with my lovely cousin for lunch in the first district of Vienna. It’s always great to spend time with her!! I love being with her simply because the world seems to be so much better. We laughed, saw a pregnant-mommy-lunch-club (did you know something like that exists?), did some window-shopping and finally got a table at “Joma”.joma_logo Our waitress JUST brought us the menu, but a few moments later we knew: this is gonna be a big lunch!!! So much good food, we gotta go for it!! ;)IMG-20130904-WA0005
So we ordered: apple-hibiscus lemonade, Sicilian roasted  pasta with black tiger shrimps, the Joma-Burger with fries, warm chocolate cake with a liquid center and some ice cream and a chocolate mouse cake with berry sorbet. YUMMY, it was!!! IMG_20130904_134009IMG_20130904_141523

First day at University

Today a new chapter started for me. It was the first day of being a student.
Yesterday on the way to Vienna I was sad and melancholic and I have to admit that a few tears were running down my cheeks… I guess it’s normal to be a little confused when something new is about to start. New means that it’s unknown, that might be scary.
But today turned out to be wonderful. I started my day with a breakfast together with my cousin. Then we headed to our universities. Oh, was I excited!!!! I really wanted to enjoy every single minute and store everything as a precious memory. I easily found the Audimax and then couple of minutes later the professor started with class. After a while I was totally absorbed by all the numbers, functions and terms. I honestly love math!!!
Afterwards I moved to my new place, unpacked, went shopping and finally made some soup and put my feet up. All day long two very special people supported my. I really don’t know what I would have done without them – a very big THANK YOU!!! I am very thankful for today – and I even have a picture of my first day of the new chapter.IMG_20130902_143924

Let’s go to… Mallorca

IMG_0011<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/10500395/?claim=cgnq7vff5vp">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>
I thought that a little mental-travelling on Sundays might be a good idea to finish off the weekend and get ready for work or university again. I love to dream about going to places, no matter if I’ve already been there or not yet!DSC00121
DSC00212 Let’s start with Mallorca. I have been there twice so far, once in Palma de Mallorca and once in the center of this beautiful island in the Mediterranean  Sea. Before I visited the island for the first time with my mom in 2011 I really associated Mallorca with drunk Germans, the famous Ballermann and a warmer extension of Germany. Well, this Spanish beauty proofed me wrong!!DSC00131 DSC07022Palma de Mallorca is a really beautiful city. There are lots of cafés and restaurants, for every budget something, cute little boutiques, ateliers of local artists, old buildings, churches and A LOT of stairs. My mom and me strolled around in the city itself, bought some nice new purses (always a good idea to do if you are in Spain, France or Italy, in my opinion) and finished our day with cocktails in a little bar somewhere near the harbor. IMG_9941 The second time I was there with my cousin. We stayed in the Finca “Son Boyvas” pretty much in the center of the island. We rented a car to get around. Even though it took us about 30 minutes to get to the beach, a restaurant, to Palma or to any other town, we loved it!! In the evenings we enjoyed local wine on our terrace and in the morning we always had organic breakfast in the garden with an absolutely stunning view over the fields.IMG_9945 IMG_0030 Another good thing about Mallorca is that you can get around so easily. There are enough street signs that help you find your way if you rent a car like we did. And if you are just staying in a hotel, there is a good public transport system to all the bigger towns and villages on the island, which are totally worth seeing.2013-08-03 15.51.06
IMG_9978 So I can truly say I love Mallorca. Beautiful landscape, enough convenience, lots of really nice stores and boutiques, excellent restaurants and cafés, nice bars and clubs for the party-people among us, sleepy villages and hidden beach beauties along the coast.IMG_9998
